A customer in Quitman, TX called when their air conditioning unit stopped working properly and began freezing up. Our technician inspected the system and discovered two electrical problems. A wire had burned inside the electrical compartment, and the fan relay had malfunctioned. Family Air HVAC Services replaced the faulty relay and repaired the damaged wire. The air conditioning system now operates properly again, providing reliable cooling for the home.

Josh was on time. He was very knowledgeable and left me with peace of mind. Definitely look into getting the spring&fall maintenance contract!
Customer called in because on not cooling well and long run times, they suspected there may be a freon leak. Upon arrival Family Air found the unit was low on refrigerant due to a refrigerant leak. We performed both an electronic leak test and a soap test and found a small leak on the inside evaporator coil. Customer was not sure yet if they wanted the refrigerant leak in the coil repaired or replaced. At this time, they opted to just add refrigerant knowing that it would leak back out. We also performed a tune up and washed the outdoor unit and got the unit running back to normal.

I can’t recommend Family Air enough! Fair pricing and great service! You know you are getting a good deal when your tech tells you what’s needed and what could wait. I also love that they offer a $99 maintenance plan which includes a spring and fall inspection.
Customer wanted a ductless mini split installed in their new shop they just had built. Family Air installed a 1 ton ductless mini split heat pump in this new building. The customer had an electrician run high voltage power to the general location and we made the final connection. We also installed a surge protector to help against power surges. The unit is heating and cooling very well. The black indoor unit looks very good on the rustic walls.

Air ducts were found to be very dirty. The air ducts had never been cleaned and as a result had years and years of dirt and grime built up in them. We removed each grille and cleaned each duct using a state-of-the-art cleaning machine with dual hepa filtration which traps everything it takes in. The air will be much cleaner as a result of this duct cleaning. We also took apart the dryer vent and cleaned that too.

Customer called in about a refrigerant leak. Family Air confirmed the unit indeed had a refrigerant leak caused by a loose piece of metal that vibrated a hole in the copper line. After giving the customer options, we ended up repairing the leak. We soldered the refrigerant leak shut, replaced the liquid line filter drier, pressure tested, pulled a vacuum, and added all new R-22 refrigerant. Unit was cooling upon completion.

Customer called wanting to get a second estimate to replace their hvac system. Family Air went out and provided several options to the customer. Customer chose to replace their five-ton complete heat pump system. We replaced the indoor and outdoor unit, new drain pan, new return plenum, some duct work, two condensate overflow switches, new ac pad, new electrical whip, new safety disconnect, added a surge protector and installed a thermostat. We registered the unit for the homeowner, and they get a ten-year parts warranty. Unit is cooling great and customer is very satisfied.

Customer needed system checked. After diagnosing the entire system Family Air found that the primary drain line was full of slime and debris. We took apart the drain line and cleared out the contents and flushed the drain line with lots of clean water. The drain line is now clear and the rest of the unit is functioning as designed.

Customer knew they had a refrigerant leak and was ready to get it fixed. Family Air went out and was able to pinpoint the leak and get it fixed. Once the leak was fixed, we pressure tested the system to make sure the leak repair was holding which it was. We pulled a vacuum and charged the system back up. The unit is working as intended and customer is very happy that they don't have to replace the unit.

Customer needed unit checked for winter. Family Air went out and performed a fall tune on a heat pump which is just one of our many residential heating services. We ran the system through many test and checked all electrical components. This unit is ready to go for winter.

Customer needed heater checked out for fall. We went out and performed a full heat tune-up. Checked normal heat and emergency heat modes. Everything was working properly at this time.

Customer said it was time for winter checkup. We performed a heating tune up on their propane gas furnace. We checked all electrical components and connections, changed the air filter, checked motor and heat exchanger, tested flame sensor and run capacitor, made sure the gas was burning safely and efficiently, and cleaned out the furnace and burner compartment. The furnace is heating as intended with no problems.
