During the inspection, we discovered two issues causing the system failure. The compressor relay had burned out completely. We also found that the dual run capacitor was only reading half of its required capacity. Our team replaced both components with the correct specifications. We installed a new dual run capacitor sized properly for the system and replaced the faulty compressor relay. Customer called in for annual a/c maintenance. We performed a FAMP 'Family Air Maintenance Plan' which includes thorough a/c inspection of the indoor and outdoor unit. We cleaned both the inside and outside coils. The inside coil and wiring had organic growth starting to grow so we sprayed it and cleaned it off. The unit is clean and tuned up properly.




Today I had a issue with the A/C unit and I called Family Air HVAC and left a message 5 minutes later I got a text back stating that they would be at the house in1 hour Mr Wallace the owner got to my house and did maintenance on my A/C unit Went over everything he did and explained the issues and even had pictures where I could see what the problem was . Now that I done business with Family Air I will always recommend them to everyone I know ( They were Honest ) that meant a lot to me . So if you need any service please give them a try.
Customer reached out to Family Air to have us install a mini split in his metal shop. There was no a/c or heat in the shop prior. We installed a 2 ton Senville ductless mini split and added a surge protector to protect from surges. We also covered both the indoor lines and outdoor lines with covers. Unit is now cooling down the shop and the customer can now work much more comfortably in climate control.

Our technician performed a complete system evaluation to identify the best solution. We determined that installing dampers in the ductwork would help balance the airflow throughout the home. Our team installed two dampers in the main ducts leading to the problem areas. We adjusted each damper to reduce airflow by about 75% to match the homeowner's comfort preferences. Performed heating tune up on one heat pump system. We tested the refrigerant system in normal heat mode, defrost cycle, and emergency heat mode. Tightened all electrical connections and tested all electrical components. We did find the heating contactors were making a loud buzzing sound when energized. We will be returning to replace these components. The system is heating as designed at this time.

Customer called because he thought the dehumidifier was not working inside his climate-controlled self-storage building. When Family Air arrived, we found the dehumidifier had accidentally been turned off. We turned it on, went through the settings, and ran a cycle to confirm that it was working which it was. We also checked the a/c operation while we were there and found the a/c was also working just fine as well. No repairs needed at this time. We will be returning to replace all the air filters in a couple of weeks.



Customer said unit does not cool during the day but over night the temperature does finally cool down. We found the condenser coil was very dirty, the unit was low on R-22 refrigerant, and the run capacitor for the blower motor was out of tolerance. Family Air technician cleaned the condenser coil, replaced the run capacitor, and added 2lbs. of R-22 refrigerant to achieve the proper levels. Unit is now working and cooling as it should.



Customer needed all air filters changed. We first went out and got sizes of all filters. Somer air filters were special size so they needed to be custom ordered. Once all the filters arrived, we returned to the jobsite and replaced all the air filters. Customer is extremely happy.



Customer complaint was poor airflow. Family Air diagnosed the system and found that a piece of insulation from inside the airhandler has come loose and got pulled in toward the blower motor and was also blocking half the evaporator coil. This insulation was the cause of the poor airflow as it was causing a 50% restriction. We measured the airflow with an airflow tester. We strapped the insulation back up to the top of the airhandler and the problem was fixed. We then tested the airflow after the fix and found the airflow had increased by about 50%. Customer was very happy with the results.
