Customer had a unit not working at their commercial building in downtown Alba. When Family Air arrived, we found several reasons why the unit was not working. The contactor was burned and broken, the condenser coil was very dirty, the condenser fan motor was burned out, and there was improper voltage at the unit. There was only 198 volts being supplies to the building and the unit needed 240 volts to operate properly. We determined the cause of these failures was likely due to improper supply voltage from the utility company. The customer called the utility company to come out and fix the voltage issue and see what they are going to help with.

Customer stated unit kept tripping the breaker. Upon arrival Family Air found the dual run capacitor outside had failed which was causing excessively high amperage which was causing the breaker to trip. We replaced the dual capacitor and tested the system. The amp draw reduced to a normal range and the breaker is no longer tripping. System is back to working as designed.
