A homeowner in Yantis, TX contacted us about poor airflow throughout their home. Our technician diagnosed the HVAC system and discovered the root cause of the problem. A piece of insulation inside the air handler had come loose and been pulled toward the blower motor. This loose insulation was also blocking about half of the evaporator coil. We used an airflow tester to measure the system's performance. The results showed the loose insulation was creating a 50% airflow restriction. Family Air HVAC Services secured the insulation back to the top of the air handler where it belonged. After completing the repair, we tested the airflow again. The system's airflow had improved by approximately 50%. The customer was very pleased with the quick diagnosis and effective solution to restore proper airflow to their home.
