A homeowner in Brashear, TX reached out needing a full HVAC system replacement. Before any equipment was selected, our technician performed a detailed load calculation on the home. This step is important — it ensures the new system is properly sized for the space, not too large and not too small.

After reviewing the results with the customer, we discussed the advantages of upgrading to an energy-efficient heat pump. Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling in one system and can significantly reduce energy costs compared to traditional setups. The customer decided to move forward with the upgrade.

Family Air removed the existing indoor and outdoor units along with sections of metal ductwork that needed to go. In their place, we installed a new Amana 3.5-ton heat pump system with auxiliary backup heat. This backup heat keeps the home comfortable even during colder stretches when outside temperatures drop.

Along with the main system, we replaced several key components to make sure everything was up to standard. That included a new drain pan, air conditioner disconnect, supply plenum, and electrical whip. We also added a surge protector to help guard the new equipment against electrical spikes.

Once the installation was complete, we tested the system to confirm it was operating as designed. The customer now has a reliable, efficient system ready to handle both the summer heat and winter cold in Brashear, TX.
