A customer in Quitman, TX called about a refrigerant leak in their air conditioning system. Our technician confirmed the leak was caused by a loose piece of metal that had vibrated against the copper refrigerant line, creating a hole.
After discussing repair options with the homeowner, we proceeded to fix the leak. Our team soldered the damaged area to seal it completely. We then replaced the liquid line filter drier to ensure proper system operation.
Next, we pressure tested the entire system to verify there were no other leaks. We pulled a vacuum to remove any moisture and air from the lines. Finally, we recharged the system with fresh R-22 refrigerant.
The air conditioner was cooling properly when we finished the repair. The customer's AC system is now running efficiently again.
